Roman Hrabec
After ten one-hour levels of play, just 21 remain in the TWD 777,000 Asian Poker Tour Super High Roller Championship at the 2025 Asian Poker Tour Championship (APTC) inside Red Space, Taipei. The Day 1 field drew a record-breaking 54 entries, the largest turnout for this buy-in in APT history, and the number is set to climb even higher with late registration still open for one more level of play.
Leading the way into Day 2 is the Czech Republic’s Roman Hrabec, who bagged a huge stack of 1,828,000 when play concluded. APT regular Lester Edoc follows in second place with 1,488,000, while France’s Axel Hallay rounds out the top three with 1,479,500. They are the only players to advance with seven-figure stacks.
Hrabec surged toward the top of the counts during Level 7 when he picked off Samuel Mullur’s triple-barrel bluff holding three queens. Despite boasting over USD 12,000,000 in career earnings according to The Hendon Mob, Hrabec is still chasing his first APT title. His best finish to date came in Taipei in 2024, where he ended up third in the Superstar Challenge.
APT Super High Roller Championship Top Ten Chip Counts
When cards hit the air at midday, 24 players were registered, and it didn’t take long for the chips to start flying. Hrabec got off to a rough start after losing almost a third of his stack to Gabriel Le Jossec, who held on with pocket nines. Not long after, Gytis Lazauninkas dragged in a sizeable pot when his river overbet with the nut straight found a call from Johan Schultz.
Samuel Mullur
Although Mullur didn’t manage to find a bag, he did pull off the bluff of the day against Vincent Huang. Mullur called a three bet preflop and then fired on the flop and turn before jamming over Huang’s third barrel. Huang eventually laid his hand down, and Mullur revealed he had turned trip aces into a bluff on a four flush board.
With less than half the field making it through, several big names were not fortunate enough to bag chips. Alex Lynskey bowed out after running the second nuts into Dylan Linde’s nuts. Matas Cimbolas was left on fumes when his kings were cracked by Hallay’s flopped set, a pot that marked the beginning of Hallay’s rise up the counts.
Michael Addamo
It was a tough day at the tables for Michael Addamo, who struggled to gain any momentum. He got it in good with pocket kings in a three way all in against Edoc and Yu Zhang, but Edoc turned a set and sent Addamo to the rebuy desk. After dinner, Addamo returned with a fresh stack, but Biao Ding busted him by winning a sixty-forty preflop. With late registration still open for one more level on Day 2, Addamo will have another chance to rejoin the action.
Some other notable players returning to the baize tomorrow include Wai Kiat Lee (961,000), Michel Molenaar (706,000), Joseph Cheong (508,500), Manuel Fritz (500,000), and Yosuke Miki (424,000), who found a fortunate turn card in the final level of the night to crack the Cowboys of Ding. They will be joined by Paulius Plausinaitis (290,000), Danny Tang (225,000), and Poker Hall of Famer Erik Seidel (205,000).
Erik Seidel
Day 2 gets underway at 11:15 AM on Level 11 with blinds at 4,500/9,000 and a 9,000 big blind ante. Late registration will remain open until the start of Level 12 at approximately 12:30 PM, after which the official prize pool and payouts will be announced.
