Day 1 of the TWD 100,000 (~USD 3,225)buy-in [Event 5] Pot-Limit Omaha Championship is in the books, and after thirteen 40-minute levels of four card action inside the Red Space, Taipei venue, a total of 25 players advanced from the 88 entries (66 unique) that were tallied.

The turnout pushed the prize pool to TWD 7,603,200 (~USD 245,265) making it the richest-ever PLO event in APT history. The top 13 places will be paid, but everyone returning tomorrow is now one step closer to the TWD 1,995,700 (~USD 64,380) top prize and the prestigious Pewter Lion APT Championship Trophy.

The player to chase on Day 2 will be Kok Wei Teoh of Malaysia, who bagged 311,000 when the dust settled. Teoh climbed into pole position after winning one of the final pots of the night, getting his bare aces in against the queens of Tao Cheng and holding through a clean runout. A slow start turned into a grind, and he ultimately bowed out shortly before play ended for the night.
