Players from over 20 countries are taking their seats in today’s Main Event, bringing a vibrant, energetic atmosphere to the tournament floor.

Familiar faces from the Europe and Pacific circuits are also present, with several trying their luck in the Main Event today. Notable names include Alfie Adam (UK), Sofia Lovgren (Sweden), Michael Foo (New Zealand), Milos Petakovic (Serbia), Tom Verbruggen (Netherlands) and Gal Bar (Israel).

India's Akshay Nasa has been making waves in other Championship events, having bagged the chip lead in both the 7-Max and Natural 8 Cup before taking a seat in today’s $10K Main Event. Nasa is also a recent Main Event satellite winner, coming in via a Step 1 ticket worth approximately USD 350. Nasa previously discussed how he “Will be travelling a lot more for live stops". He often frequents APT series saying :“I like the structure and management of the event.”, but like many other players, it is his first time in Taiwan.

Online Qualifiers

A massive 110 competitors earned their spots through online qualifiers on Natural8, securing their Main Event seats before travelling across the globe to Taipei for a shot at the title. Not all have appeared on the floor yet, but France's Fabian Rolli and Nicolas Godard are among the notable online qualifiers who have made their presence felt.

Alexandru Papazian

Other big names who qualified online include the UK's Ryan Plant and Romania's Alexandru Papazian. Papazian brings a formidable presence to the Main Event, with over USD 4 million in live earnings, highlighted by his 2016 victory in the European Poker Tour’s €25,000 buy-in event. He is also a two-time WSOP bracelet winner.
