TAIPEI, TAIWAN, November 25, 2025 – It’s official, the TWD 311,000 (~USD 10,000) APT Championship Main Event Freezeout is the biggest and richest USD 10K buy-in tournament to run outside of Las Vegas in the last decade, and the largest and wealthiest ever to run in Asia.

Playing out at the tournament tables of the cavernous Red Space 多元商務空間 and run in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP), Day 2 of the Main Event saw the 343 Day 1 survivors from the initial 595 Day 1 entries joined by a further 76 entries before late registration closed at the start of level 11 at 1:45pm local time (TST).

This brought the field up to 671 total entries, with the TWD 156 million (~USD 5M) guarantee reached and breached midway through the first day.

Notable late entries included Super High Roller championship runner-up Alexander Wice, Australia’s David Wang, the USA’s Dylan Linde, Hong Kong’s #1 ranked tournament player Danny Tang, Superstar Challenge champion Calvin Lee, and runner up Daniel Neilson, Natural8 Cup Championship winner Jon Rounce-Sue and runner-up Rob Hollink, and two-time APT Main Event champion Lester Edoc.

The prize pool stands at a massive TWD 194,080,973 (~USD 6,220,550), making this the richest tournament in the Asian Poker Tour’s 19-year history.

A total of 95 players will make the paying positions, with a min-cash coming in at TWD 572,500 (~TWD 18,350) and the eventual champion making the APT record books by banking the largest Main Event top prize ever awarded – a monstrous TWD 37,030,773 (~USD 1,186,880) first place prize, plus the exclusive APT Championship Gold Lion Main Event Trophy!

Day 2 saw players compete over eight 75-minute levels, with 133 left in contention when the tournament clock ticked into the red.

It is Dohang Na who sits at the apex of the leaderboard, making a late surge for the tournament top spot on the last level played after cracking Yuanxi Chen’s pocket kings with ace-eight to bring the Singaporean’s Main Event run to a screeching halt.

Na bagged up a stack of 924,500, valued at a sizable 185 big blinds, and was the only player to conclude the day over the 900K mark.

India’s Aditya Agarwal sits second in the counts with a stack of 766,000, with Malaysia’s Ben Loo—who led for the last two levels of the day before being pipped for the lead—rounding out the top three with 738,500 in chips.

Computational wizard Dominik Nitsche (701,500) also bagged a top ten stack, as did inaugural Octo-Razz champion Chung Ching Cheung (655,000).
